2. Installing Knowledge Base Mod
Welcome to this guide on how to install Knowledge Base step by step, it tries to take things from the very basics, and links to outside resources to help you install the mod as painless as possible. First of all we recommend installing the mod on a non-live environment and playing around with settings and alike before implementing it unto your live board. If your live board isn't heavily modded already we also recommend using Automod to install the mod. More information on what Automod does for you can be found here, and the guide on installing this mode with Automod can be found here.
3. Downloading and unpacking files
First of all go to our website and download the latest mod package, there is a link to it on the front page. Once you have unpacked the .zip file and headed into the main folder, you will find a couple of files and folders. The root folder is the place where all files related with the mod is. The contrib folder contains files for updating or installing other templates or translations. The file you want is install.xml, open this in your webbrowser (doesn't work in all IE versions) and follow on screen instructions. It should be pretty straight forward, but are you in doubt, phpBB.com has 2 excellent guides: Opening a Modification for the First Time & Installing a Modification.
4. Updating the database
When you are done uploading the new and edited files, head to your forum and login as an administrator. Then access the kb.php file via your adressline, as shown in the example below:

Read the text on the page and confirm the install by pressing yes:

This page might take some time loading, as the mod is now installing data and alike to the DB. When you are presented with a success text you are ready to do the last step.
5. Finishing the installation
